What happens when support ends

On-premises software can keep running after support ends. That does not mean Microsoft still fixes its defects or provides security updates.

Mainstream support, extended support, product retirement and licensing milestones describe different things. A later Service Plan date does not extend product security support.

Dynamics GP has a separate security-update phase after product support ends. The tracker shows those milestones separately.

Modern-policy support also requires the applicable updates. Operating systems, databases, custom code and partner products have their own support rules.

Questions about microsoft dynamics end of life

Is Microsoft Dynamics GP being discontinued?

Yes. Dynamics GP product updates and technical support end on December 31, 2029. MS Dynamics Guys tracks its separate security-update deadline, April 30, 2031.

When does Dynamics NAV support end?

NAV 2017 extended support ends on January 11, 2027. NAV 2018 extended support ends on January 11, 2028. Earlier NAV versions listed in this tracker have ended support.

Is Dynamics AX still supported?

The listed AX versions have ended support. AX 2012 R3 extended support ended on January 10, 2023. Microsoft documents a move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 finance and operations apps.

When does Dynamics SL support end?

SL 2018 extended support ends on July 11, 2028. Its Service Plan has a separate January 15, 2030 deadline. That later plan date does not extend product security support.

When does Microsoft Dynamics 365 on-premises support end?

MS Dynamics Guys separates CRM releases from Customer Engagement versions. Customer Engagement 9.1 mainstream support ends on January 12, 2029. Extended support ends on January 9, 2031.

Why can Microsoft lifecycle dates look different?

Some source fields lack a timezone offset, so browser displays can differ. Microsoft also revises support dates. MS Dynamics Guys records calendar dates and explains verified source conflicts.

Does a fresh countdown mean the sources were checked again?

No. MS Dynamics Guys calculates status from the Pacific calendar day. Each row keeps its actual source checked date.

Can I reuse the support dates?

Yes. Download the CSV, JSON or calendar without a form. Credit the MS Dynamics Guys End-of-Support Tracker under CC BY 4.0 and keep the Microsoft source links.

How MS Dynamics Guys builds this tracker

MS Dynamics Guys checked the linked Microsoft records on October 10, 2026. The tracker covers the listed versions, not every historical Microsoft release.

The label Official source means the date is supported by a Microsoft record. It does not claim three independent sources agree.

Dates are stored as calendar dates. Countdown days use America/Los_Angeles, the Pacific timezone, regardless of your location.

Some Microsoft source fields contain no timezone offset, and their browser display can differ. Explicit official notes and annual summaries resolve listed dates where available.

The listed Business Central future calendar dates do not specify an exact support cutoff time. Check the linked product record before a time-sensitive decision.

Status calculations can change without a new source review. The source checked date records the review, not the page build.

Reviewed by Paul Francis. Check Microsoft for changes before making a support or licensing decision.
